2018 GMC Yukon Release Date, Changes

The Yukon has aged gracefully since its inception some years back and the 2018 GMC Yukon model boasts of some enchantments. The top trim gets maximum enhancements and it is a compelling choice. It will combat segment rivals like Ford Expedition and Toyota Sequoia upon release.

There are several types of SUVs to pick from, and the manufacturers release new models based on need and demand of the buyers. While a section of SUV buyers opts for the coupe and crossover styled models, some others still want rugged truck based SUVs for their needs. The latter type often prefers the GMC Yukon over other alternatives.

2018 GMC Yukon – Revamped Design

The 2018 GMC Yukon has its roots in trucks and that shows despite the design revamp. It has rugged boxy build that appears awe-inspiring. The 2018 Yukon is sold in the trims- SLE, SLT and Denali. The Denali gets special chrome accents on the exterior and unique grille with cheese grater design. It is the most handsome looking vehicle in the lineup, for sure.

The Denali also gets LED Signature Lighting and HID headlamps. The air grille helps cool air reach engine better and keep engine temperature under check.

The cabin of the 2018 GMC Yukon is sleek looking and it is very spacious. There are enough bottle and cup holders and the center console is really big. In cargo capacity, the Yukon lags behind most rivals in this class with just 15.3 cubic ft. The Yukon Denali gets real wood trim and excellent leather upholstery inside. It is also the trim to get active noise cancellation tech embedded.

Availability and Price Range of the 2018 GMC Yukon

The 2018 GMC Yukon will soon be made available for sale. Base trim pricing should be around $49,000 and Denali trim price is $70,000 approx.

Summing it up

The 2018 GMC Yukon is a superb full sized SUV that gets a good makeover for 2018. The design changes are fine and Denali trim gets the most of the exterior styling changes. Even in the cabin, the Denali gets the best materials. However, the new 10-speed automatic transmission will help enhance fuel economy and both engine choices are good.

The ride quality is not best in class but cabin remains more or less quietly. In safety and amenities again Denali trim gets most of the features. However, buyers of other 2 trims can also opt for optional packages. Pricing is a tad on the higher side but all trims offer great value for money. Apart from reduced cargo capacity, it also scores well on every other front.
