The Japanese Company has redesigned the upcoming 2018 Honda Accord in an aggressive way. It will be slightly lower and exterior styling is going to be aggressive, as per company sources. While Toyota and Nissan are trying to woo midsized sedan buyers with their revamped offerings, the Honda Accord has been a top favorite in this segment for quite some time now.
It has done especially well in the US market. However, the 10th generation Accord is ready for launch and spy shots have been doing rounds online for some days.
2018 Honda Accord – Design Style
Even though the spy shots show camouflaged car, the design style is not hard to guess. It is more coupe-like and similarities with siblings like the Odyssey minivan and CR-V is there.
The front side has sleek LED lamps and multi-slatted chrome grille. The 2018 Honda Accord is going to get enticing looks since it will be based on the brand’s new Global platform. Not much is known about the cabin but it is expected to be made with top-notch materials.
Like the 2017 model, it is likely to come in some trim choices.
However, owing to the coupe-like build, cargo space may be less in the 2018 Honda Accord compared to the existing one.

Powertrain Choice of the 2018 Honda Accord
The 2018 Honda Accord is going to get new powertrain choices. There will be three engines actually- one of them taken from the new 10th generation Civic and two are absolutely new to the series.
The 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine will be taken from Civic. The older V6 engine will not be used in the 2018 Accord any longer.
It will be substituted by a new a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged unit. To take on Toyota which has made a name in hybrid car segment, the Honda will equip the upcoming Accord with a hybrid engine choice.
The detail of dual motor hybrid setup is yet to be revealed by the brand. The four-cylinder engines will get a six-speed manual transmission option. The hybrid engine will most likely be clubbed with the 10-speed automatic torque-converter transmission gearbox.
The engines will get various driving modes like Normal, Eco and Sport. Honda has not announced output for the new engines to be used in the 2018 Accord. The ride quality is pretty good and early tests reveal the lack of V6 is not a bad thing after all.
Pricing and Availability
No release date of the 2018 Honda Accord has been announced but late 2017 is the time when the brand is likely to unveil the car. Exact pricing of the new Accord is not clear but the base trim price can be close to $23,000 or so.
The top trim pricing may exceed the $30,000 mark and customizations will make it heftier as well.
