There are several midsized luxury crossovers in the market but the 2018 Lincoln MKX is one dark horse among them. It may not exactly have the same lineage of a BMW or Porsche but Ford’s luxury brand is slowly making the foothold in luxury vehicle market over the years. Since its debut in 2007, it has sold quite well. However, it is getting a makeover for 2018. Apart from exterior styling, it gets changes in cabin technologies.

The Lincoln MKX is derivative of Ford Edge and despite several revamps, the root is not too hard to trace! Like the predecessor, it is offered in 4 trims- Premiere, Select, Reserve while the top trim is Black Label. The exterior looks graceful and somewhat wagon like. The front side has the brand’s trademark dual split grille. The tail lamps stretch across the rear of the car. Top trim gets full LED headlamps and all trims get DRL.
The cabin of 2018 Lincoln MKX is quite luxurious, almost on par with what German rivals offer. Of course, the Black label gets best upholstery choices and materials. You get wood or aluminum trim choices. Five adults can be accommodated inside and cargo space is at 37.2 cubic feet is pretty good.
The MKX gets a Revel audio system with 13 or 19 speakers. Its cabin is fitted with Interior sequential lighting which lightens up parts of the cabin in an order. You can opt for a panoramic Vista Roof.
The 2018 Lincoln MKX gets enough safety features to satisfy demanding buyers and luxury features are also very much in line with what most rivals offer in this segment. It gets Ford’s spruced up Sync 3 infotainment setup. All trims get fitted with rear parking sensors and backup camera.

Engine Specs of the 2018 Lincoln MKX
The 2018 Lincoln MKX is powered by 3.7-liter V-6 engine making 303 HP. The available twin-turbo 2.7-liter V-6 can generate 335 HP. The engines get clubbed with 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission gearbox. AWD is optional and an adaptive suspension is also there.
You get Lincoln Drive Control on AWD models with three modes- Comfort, Sport and Normal. Abundant use of acoustic glass and underbody panels help keep the cabin literally noiseless most of the times.
Price and Availability
While the exact pricing of the 2018 Lincoln MKX is yet to be declared, it is not likely to be much above the 2017 models. The base trim price could be around $39,000. But the Black label trim, when configured with available options may well go past $67,000. It is slated for late 2017 launch.
The 2018 Lincoln MKX is a nice mid-level luxury crossover that gets a revamp in styling and technologies. The engines are powerful and luxury features leave almost nothing to grudge about.
