The new-generation 2018 Renault Duster is endowed with an evolutionary styling and has grown from strength to strength. The model is the brand’s best-seller globally with more than 1 million units sold and is by far one of the most compact SUVs in India.
In terms of styling, there is no doubt that it is a highly reworked version with the same likely to be more robust and muscular. The butch appearance has been kept intact. Moreover, it is also going to be available in a new body color, Atacama Orange.
2018 Renault Duster – Appearance and Quality Interior
With the pursuit of making the SUV a little wider, the grille has been made wider and the headlights being pushed to either corner. The brand new signature LED daytime running lights have been added dividing the three sections and highlighting the headlamp cluster. In order to make the look of the Duster more assertive, the bonnet has been reworked for having a flatter surface getting a U-shaped masculine line. In the front and rear bumper, a silver skid plate has been added looking like a bull bar and it is finished in the scratch-resistant coating to withstand some beating. With the new aluminum finished roof bars and 17-inch allow wheels, the design is indeed rather interesting.
Marked improvement in design and quality levels of the cabin has been witnessed. To give it a broader appearance, the tail-lamps have been cornered. Although the Duster is very much likely to undergo some significant aesthetic changes at the rear and the front, however, it would remain to be a five-setter car. It would continue to have its usual hunkered-up stance.
Infotainment and safety of the passengers
With the new touchscreen infotainment endowed with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, the vehicle would be equipped with soft-touch materials, new automate climate control, Bluetooth, Mirror Link rear air-conditioning vents multi-functional steering wheel, new upholstery for seats.
In order to take care of the safety and security of passengers, there would be dual front airbags, EBD (Electronic BrakeForce Distribution), ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System), multiple driving modes, ESP, rear parking camera having sensors, hill launch assist, etc. Blind spot warning, Rain-Sensing Wipers, Satellite Navigation are some other great features of the 2018 Renault Duster as revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show, where the vehicle has been unveiled officially and publicly for the very first time on September 12, 2017.
2018 Renault Duster – Comes with Three Engine Options
The first and the greenest engine of the 2018 Renault Duster is a 1.5 dCi 110 Ambiance 5dr that will produce 109 HP. The fuel economy for this version is 64.2 MPG. It will accelerate from 0 to 60 MPH in 11.8s. The second one is the cheapest 1.6 SCe 115 Access 5dr that produces 114 Hp and comes with EPA rating of 44.1MPG. The accelerate time from 0 to 60 MPH is 11.0s. The fastest one and last is a 1.2 TCe 125 Laureate 5dr 4X4 with 125 HP and fuel economy of 44.1 MPG. Furthermore, this one will have accelerated time like the previous one 11.0s.
Expected Launch and Price
The has already been launched officially and would be available in the European market from the first half of the year 2018. However, as for the Indian market, it is expected that the car would be available for sale from the latter part of 2018. The price will be around $13.000.
