The new 2018 Toyota 4Runner is one of those crossovers which seem to have it all. So right from off- road prowess to exceptional ride quality, the Toyota 4Runner will have all the desired qualities that are meant to be in a crossover.
2018 Toyota 4Runner – Design Features
The manufacturers do not intend to make any changes in the platform design, however, there will be definitely some design improvements on the exterior of the 2018 Toyota 4Runner. People who love the Toyota 4Runner have been known to really admire its boxy appearance which makes it look very aggressive.
So, the Toyota is definitely going to retain the outer structure. Though the overall design is not going to change much, there will be some minor changes which are rumored to have been inspired by the Tacoma. The hood of the 4Runner is going to be a little longer while the grille will be a little bit on the bulkier side.
There will be a big difference between the rear end design in the upcoming 4Runner and the current 4Runner. The taillights will be wider and the lines in the rear design will be more round. However, the rear part of the 4Runner may be lowered to give it sportier look. The previous model of the 4Runner was available in three colors. The manufacturers have not revealed the color of the new Toyota yet.
Specifications Inside the Cabin
Since the platform of the 4Runner is quite big therefore it will offer more space inside the cabin. The manufacturers are focusing on making some huge improvements on the inside of the 2018 Toyota 4Runner.
The shift knob, like the rest of the interior, will be covered in premium leather. It will come with the Entune entertainment system that off- late has been standard in all the Toyota cars. However, the upholstery will be done in great quality leather and will match the standards that have been set by the previous 4Runner.
Direct Injection Engine
Though the engine will be smaller it will have performance good enough to make the 2018 Toyota 4Runner a great on- road vehicle. The Smaller engine will definitely reduce its capacity for towing. The engine is going to be a V-6, naturally aspirated 4.0 liters engine. It was recently upgraded with features like direct injection.
The torque output will be around 278 lb-ft while the horsepower will be 270 hp. The engine’s overall efficiency will be improved. The fuel economy in the city/highway is 17/22 mpg for the (2WD) and 17/21 mpg for (4WD).
