The newly 2019 Audi Q5 enters the second generation with more power, better efficiency, and new design. Audi covered almost all of the aspects in order to improve already excellent compact-luxury SUV. Since its introduction in 2009, this model becomes the Audi’s best seller.

Besides that, new 2019 Audi Q5 features better handling and all-around capability. With all that in place, and with luxury interior and highest safety ratings, Audi Q5 will compete with BMW X3 and Acura RDX for top place.

The 2019 Audi Q5 already looks familiar, but the German car manufacturer changed some features in order to keep things interesting. The trapezoidal front grille is surrounded with a new fascia and standard xenon headlights supported with LED running lights. At the back are power tailgate and some elongated tailpipe housings. Roof rails are the same as before and it gives 2019 Audi Q5 familiar SUV appeal.

This model uses 18-inch wheels as standard, while 19 and 20-inches wheels are optional. The stance of Q5 is increased from 7.9 to 8.2 inches. Moreover, rear turn signals now blink fluidly in the selected direction, so Audi Q5 now looks more futuristic. Keyless door and liftgate access are optional.

Audi Q5 offers 2-row/5-passenger seats, some new design features, and technological amenities. The interior looks sleek and upscale, and it is now packed with plenty of buttons. The highlight of Audi’s interior is Virtual Cockpit. This optional feature turns instrumental cluster into a 12.3-inch digital display that will provide information like speed, mpg, and even Google Maps.

Legroom is also good and the cargo volume is over 60 cubic feet whit folded seats. The cabin is quiet and easy to get in or out. The power-adjustable seats are now standard, and the seats are leather wrapped. Higher trims like Premium or Prestige offers more leather materials and luxury features. Three-zone automatic climate control is standard and adaptive cruise-control, active lane-keeping assist and traffic-sign recognition are all optional.

The 2019 Audi Q5 comes with a base 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. This drivetrain produces up to 255 HP and 275 lb-ft of torque. It uses a dual-clutch S Tronic 7-speed transmission. With this system, the power is routed to all four wheels. Furthermore, this system enhances fuel efficiency by powering the front wheels when possible and then shifting all the power to the rear wheels. This specs will give in the city/highway fuel economy of 23/27 mpg.

The second engine 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 comes with the high-performance sibling 2019 Audi SQ5. This unit can create 355 HP and 370 lb-ft of torque. The engine comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The EPA city/highway fuel economy of the SQ5 model is 19/24 mpg. Furthermore, this model will have better accelerate time from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.1 seconds. The top speed is 155 mph.

This version of the SUV will be much more attractive than the base one. The front end of the car is a slightly more aggressive and logo of this model will be placed on the grill that is now blacked. However, the chrome variant is only available in the base one. The back bumper has now bigger and the wheels are now 21 inches. This will give the SUV much more macho styling. Also, it will give a very comfortable ride and perfectly updated interior features. The model will be available in two trims Premium Plus and Prestige version.

The Prestige trim will include MMI infotainment system, a virtual cockpit that is also present in base one, head-up display, navigation, and 4G LTE capability. Also, the mighty sound system with 19 speakers 755-watt Bang & Olufsen, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, adaptive cruise control, stop-and-go traffic jam assist and lane keep assistance will be standard in this mode. The red brake calipers, adaptive air suspension, and a torque-vectoring rear differential will be available in Premium Plus trim.

2019 Audi Q5 Hybrid Quattro Version

The model 2019 Audi Q5 Hybrid will be also available. After the almost six years, the manufacturer decides to bring Hybrid engine on it. The first Hybrid version of Q5 is released in late 2012. However, the new one comes with 2.0 TFSI engine delivering 155 kW or 211 HP. Also, it will be connected to an electric motor that generates 33kW and will be located directly behind the combustion engine. The lithium-ion battery comes with 1.3 kWh of energy. This combination will give a total output of 245 HP and 354 lb-ft of torque. The eight-speed Tiptronic gearbox will be in this model.

The all-new 2019 Audi Q5 will cost around $43,000. The Premium model begins at $46,500 while the Prestige model starts at $52,000. The model SQ5 will starts at $54,000. By adding some optional features and luxury packages, the price will go up to $57,000.

The most likely competitors are BMX X3, Acura RDX, Lincoln MKC and Mercedes-Benz GLC models. The expected release date of Audi Q5 is the spring of 2019.
