The second-generation Audi A5 arrived two years ago with updated technology, styling, and performance. As mentioned, the upcoming 2019 Audi RS5 offers aggressiveness and uniqueness. The RS model is built on a standard A5’s design. However, RS is taking a giant step forward thanks to fresh upgrades. The new wider flaring fenders, unique body and door panels are just some of the updates. The front grille is shorter and wider and headlights are slightly increased in both width and height.
LED strips are there and it gives this coupe a futuristic nose. Around the grille, there are also plenty of silver trim and the hood gave front end sharper look. Beneath the styling, new chassis uses more lightweight materials that are reducing the mass of the car.
The Audi RS5 is lighter than its predecessor. It comes with better handling, fuel efficiency and acceleration as a result. Overall, the exterior appearance is functional and upscale.
2019 Audi RS5 Interior Offers Elegant and Comfort Cabin
The interior is equally stunning as the exterior. The all-new 2019 Audi RS5 comes with very elegant and driver-oriented cabin. The seats come with premium leather and all leather materials are stitched with a red contrasting. Front seats are bolstered and the comfort is excellent. Legroom is generous even for taller adults, however, rear seats could do with some improvements in this category. The newest model 2019 Audi RS5 is able to get five passengers.
When it comes to features, Audi RS5 comes with the flat-bottom steering wheel as standard while head-up display and 30 driver assistance features are optional. Audi’s virtual cockpit is boosted by redesigned instrument cluster that adds a display for vehicle information and navigation.
The MMI touch system is standard, however, Audi announced multiple infotainment system choices. Phone connectivity that includes Android Auto and Apple CarPlay is available as well.
2019 Audi RS5 Engine Scores 445 HP
Under the hood, the 2019 Audi RS5 comes with a 2.9-liter turbocharged V6. This drivetrain will output 445 HP and 443 lb-ft of torque. The new turbocharged engine is basically the same as the one in Porsche Panamera. This unit is coming with “sportily tuned” 8-speed Tiptronic transmission and it includes an all-wheel-drive configuration as standard.
The power is maximized thanks to an active torque distribution. German carmaker claims that RS5 coupe hits 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds and the top speed is 175 mph. Furthermore, thanks to lighter chassis and additional refinement, 2019 Audi RS5 improved its efficiency. The fuel economy scores 18 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.
2019 Audi RS5 Price and Release Date
The last year’s RS5 is available in the showrooms right now and it cost $70,000. The new model will for certain see a slight price increase. However, official pricing is unknown for now. The 2019 Audi RS5 will hit the dealerships this summer.
