The all-new 2019 BMW X1 is an upscale and spacious crossover. BMW prefers to call this model SAV which is short on Sports Activity Vehicle. The X1 is comfortable and a quite good performer, no less capable than the bigger X3 or X5 models. Also, X1 comes with a taller ride height and an all-wheel-drive system. Not only that, X1 offers a turbocharged engine so the ride is great, and even hauling is not a problem for this crossover.
The exterior is perhaps not too expressive, but the design is fashionable and when you see it, you know it’s a BMW. It is a very competitive vehicle, not only because of all mentioned characteristics but because of the whole package. The upcoming BMW X1 comes with five trims and plenty of tech updates and innovations.
2019 BMW X1 is Handsome middle-size SUV
When you compare new 2019 BMW X1 to its rivals, it looks subtle and handsome, but also a bit shrieky. The compactness of the vehicle allows X1 good maneuverability in tight spaces and thanks to its boxy shape, cargo capacity is the best in class. While it is a very proportioned and handsome vehicle, no exterior changes happened. It is almost impossible to identify the X1 model without twin-kidney grilles and narrow headlights. So there is no point in changing a winning formula.
Of course, there are nice design details such as noticeable rib that runs through the whole body side all the way over the door handles. It gives the upcoming 2019 BMW X1 muscular and athletic appearance.
The LED headlights that turn with the steering wheel is optional, and it will help with illuminating corners during the night drive. There are 11 exterior paints, nine of them are metallic and we personally like new Sunset Orange Metallic color. A panoramic sunroof is an option and it opens over the front-seat passengers.
2019 BMW X1 Interior and Comfort
If you opt for the 2019 BMW X1, you will get a nice and comfortable interior packed with leather and wood trims, intuitive controls and even generous spacious seating. The seats could be comfier and some luxury features are available only with higher trim models. However, a $550 option is heated seats and steering wheel.
The glovebox door is plastic, just like the lunchbox, and the bin is now placed under the front seat. It feels like BMW decided to spare some money on the interior and spend it somewhere else, probably on driving characteristics.
As for the safety, this 2019 BMW X1 gain a five stars score. The features that will be standard in this model are Dsc-X Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Roll Stability Control (RSC), ABS and also a Driveline Traction Control, BMW Assist eCall Emergency S.O.S, Low Tire Pressure Warning, Driver And Passenger dual stage Front Airbags, Curtain for the 1st And 2nd Row Airbags, Driver/Passenger Knee Airbag and Rear Child Safety Locks.
However, let’s not forget to add on the list parking sensors, rearview camera, lane-departure warning, frontal-collision warning and automatic emergency braking.
2019 BMW X1 Engine Specs
The 2019 BMX X1 comes with a single engine option, and it is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. It burst 230 HP and is coming with an eight-speed automatic transmission. This engine is very fuel efficient.
This crossover can reach 0 to 60 mph in 6.4 seconds, not the quickest, but one of the quicker results in this segment. The start/stop system is available and it shuts off the engine at idle. In that way, X1 saves more fuel and gives 23/32 mpg for the FWD and 22/31 mpg for the AWD. The top speed of the car is 129 mph.
