It has been ten years since Buick presented the Enclave model, a 3-row crossover SUV that made an instant impact. However, over the years the company has done almost nothing when it comes to upgrades and facelifts. Now, the 2019 Buick Enclave comes totally redesigned and Buick even added the luxurious Avenir trim level in order to compete with some huge rivals. The main competitors are the Infiniti QX60, Acura MDX, and Mazda CX-5.
The overall performance and appearance are now much improved, and the price is still affordable. The interior offers plenty of room and good visibility and driving Enclave feels like driving smaller vehicle than an actual SUV.
2019 Buick Enclave exterior changes and dimensions
Dimensionally, the new 2019 Buick Enclave is 204.3 inches long and this is a big vehicle that rides on a 121-inch wheelbase. Some styling cues decreased that bulk, for example, the waterfall grille design is changed and the front now features a tri-shield Buick’s logo. Enclave offers three trim levels, base, Essence and Premium. All models will benefit from a keyless entry and push-button start.
The liftgate is hands-free power operated. Buick added a universal remote, six USB ports, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. When it comes to safety, new 2019 Enclave adds a rearview camera, rear park assist and up to seven airbags. The top-range Avenir model adds slick 3D mesh grille, sleek roofline, 20-inch wheels, dual moonroof and a rearview mirror that can be used as a camera.
2019 Buick Enclave interior highlight a large 8-inch screen
The interior of 2019 Buick Enclave features a very modern and clean design. The layout looks perfect, and the dashboard comes with a padded surface with chrome and wood accents. The center of the dashboard is highlighted by a large 8-inch screen.
The analog gauges are electronic and are positioned in front of the driver. The seats are very comfortable, and front buckets are separated by a large center console with generous storage space. As mentioned, the layout is perfect and all of the controls are logically placed and are easy to use. The 2nd-row features captain’s chairs and 3rd row can accommodate two adults easy.
2019 Buick Enclave engine
The forthcoming 2019 Buick Enclave will ride on a single drivetrain option. It is a 3.6-liter V6 that is connected to a new 9-speed automatic transmission. This engine can produce up to 310 HP and 266 lb-ft of torque. Buick reworked this engine a little and its direct-injection. Fuel economy is rated at 18mpg in the city and 26mpg on the highway.
This makes a total of 21mpg combined with forward-wheel drive configuration. An all-wheel-drive setup boosts fuel economy even more. New Enclave is also equipped with stop/start technology.
The engine’s towing capacity is rated at 1,500 pounds. However, a new trailer-towing package is optional and it could improve Enclave’s tow rating to a 5,000 pounds.
2019 Buick Enclave price and release date
The starting price of an all-new 2019 Buick Enclave is $40,500. Top-range Avenir is priced at $55,000. This price means that the newest Buick’s SUV is priced below Acura MDX and also an Infiniti QX60. This SUV will go on sale in the first half of 2019.
