Remember when Ford introduced Focus back in 2012? For the first time in last decade, both Europe and the U.S. got a great compact car at the same time. And it was a big deal. Now, almost seven years later, the fans are getting excited because new 2019 Ford Focus is coming. On top of that, things get more interesting as Ford will release hatchback, sedan, and wagon.
The world of Ford fans started to buzz when one picture leaked on the internet. It was a picture of new Focus taken in Portugal, during the shooting of a, probably new commercial. Looking at the photo of this hatchback, the exterior suffered some design changes and it looks more premium.
2019 Ford Focus Sedan Spy Photos
After the hatchback photo has been leaked, the sightings of a 2019 Ford Focus Sedan appeared as well. The new sedan will be imported from China as it was sourced in a plant over there. In the past, most of Ford’s vehicles were sourced in Wayne, Michigan, and the company is planning to reassign the plant in Wayne for their new models of Ranger and Bronco. The new Focus was first assigned to Mexican plant that should cost around $1,8 billion. The plan has changed as China looked like a much better move. Exporting Focus from China will save the German brand around $500 million.
So far, we know that the new Focus will be slightly wider and longer, so the cabin space is better. Looking at the spy shots of new sedan vehicle will not give us more clue about anything, especially about the engine. However, there is a rumor that the Ford Focus Sedan will have under the hood a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. We expect better output than in the predecessor.
2019 Ford Focus Wagon Caught Testing
Another prototype that is coming is new Ford’s Focus compact wagon. While sedan and hatchback body styles will almost for certain hit the U.S. market, it is yet unknown what will happen with wagon model. However, if this happens, Ford Focus Wagon will challenge Subaru Outback and Volkswagen Golf SportWagen.
In Europe, likely competitors are Opel Astra Sports Tourer and Hyundai i30 Touring. Engine options are still unknown, but the diesel model will happen for sure. The exterior is attractive, and this wagon model will come as slightly wider and longer vehicle. 2019 Ford Focus Wagon will arrive around six months after the hatchback debut.
Focus RS End Of Production
After years of Focus RS presence in Europe, the U.S. market had an opportunity to taste this model in 2016. The ratings were high and the customers were more than satisfied. With its 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine that comes with all-wheel drive and 350 HP, Focus RS has beat its rivals like Subaru WRX STI and Volkswagen Golf R.
The company will continue to build its 2019 Ford Focus RS for the American market. There is no information about Ford’s plans for next-generation RS model. It is rumored that will end production with 2019 model.
