2019 New Cars

2019 Honda CR-V Changes, Redesign, Hybrid, Release Date

It is presumed that very little change(s) would be made to the 2019 Honda CR-V, Honda’s second-most popular vehicle; since the current model of the car has already gone through a major and extensive update just a couple of years back in the year 2017.

Therefore, massive changes are truly and most likely out of question and out of the equation. It has been since the year 2009 that the sale of Honda CR-V has been on the rise after a dip in the same in 2008. Honda, being the brand it is was really quick enough to recover the very next year.

The 2019 Honda CR-V is going to be available on four different trims, namely- LX, EX, EX-L and Touring. This Honda SUV is available in 10 colors, 5 of which are Pearl colors while the rest 5 are metallic. The car is more than likely to retain all of its style aspects.

2019 Honda CR-V – Unique Design

Speculations are going on high time as regards to the design of the new 2019 Honda CR-V. As far as the design goes, the Honda CR-V should be more aggressive and sportier than that of its predecessors. Also, it comes with a redesigned front bumper and a fresh new large grille. Barring that, the cabin should be as it is, although some say it is going to be more spacious than it was ever. The hood is a bit longer compared to its immediate predecessor, the 2017 Honda CR-V.

Technological updates are present on display also, but again as mentioned earlier nothing conclusive to be banking on as yet. As far as safety features go, there would be Active, Passive safety as well as driver-assist features in the 2019 Honda CR-V.

Trims Options

The base trim of the newest model LX is least expensive. This trims will offer features like rearview camera, intelligent cruise control, 160-watt audio system with 4 mighty speakers, colorful 5-inch screen, automatic climate control, 6-way manual-config driver’s seat and Bluetooth wireless connectivity.

The most recommended trim and the middle equipment is EX. This trim comes with dual-zone climate control, Honda Sensing safety suite, front power seats that are heated, the bigger display screen of 7 inches, moonroof and Apple CarPlay/Android.

The next one is EX-L trim that will add natural leather seating, 8-speaker audio system power tailgate, power-adjustable passenger seat with 4-way configuration, HomeLink, auto-dimming rearview mirror.

For the end, top of the line is Touring trim. This is most equipment trim. It includes hands-free tailgate, navigation, rain-sensing windshield wipers, roof rails, LED headlights and powerful 330-watt/9-speaker audio system. Also, the dual chrome exhaust outlets are available in this trim.

2019 Honda CR-V – Turbocharged Powertrain

The new model will come with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine and a 2.4-liter inline-4. The second engine will be only available in LX trim. The first engine will crank 190 horsepower with 179 lb-ft of torque. This one will probably have same numbers in city/highway fuel economy like its predecessor 28/34 mpg for the (FWD) and 27/33 mpg for the (AWD).

Another one engine will make 184 horsepower at 6,400 rpm. However, this one will have the fuel economy of 26/32 mpg (FWD), 25/31 mpg (AWD). The front-wheel drive is the standard and all-wheel drive optional all trims.

Both engines are connected to CVT automatic transmission.

Towing Capacity

All engines in the new 2019 Honda CR-V are capable to tow maximum 1,500 pounds. If we compare this model to the Jeep Cherokee, the CR-V is losing in this region, because Cherokee can tow an impressive 4500 pounds.

Could we expect the hybrid powertrain?

Beside 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, the 2019 Honda CR-V will also get a hybrid powertrain. Exceedingly high possibility of a hybrid engine is something that the fans can really look forward to.

The hybrid version will be available in European car market. However, here in the U.S., we can’t expect it before 2019. There are no official reports about hybrid powertrain specifications. According to the www.greencarreports.com, the new 2019 Honda CR-V Hybrid will be powered by 2.0-liter Atkinson inline-4 engine which is paired with the two-motor hybrid system. This same powertrain we are expecting to give power to upcoming Honda Accord Hybrid.

Cost and Launch Date of the 2019 Honda CR-V

With not any mammoth changes likely in the car, the base LX model for 2019 has a price of $24,000. We expect that EX model get the price under $28,000. However, the top-line CR-V Touring model has a price a bit above $32,000. If you want to upgrade to AWD system, you will need to give extra $1,300. The new 2019 Honda CR-V will debut in the summer of 2018. The Nissan Rogue and Ford Escape will compete with this model.

Summing it up:

Although changes are going to be little, still there are some vital changes that the new Honda CR-V might witness one would assume which again indeed makes for an interesting scenario as for how it could or rather would fare in the market.
