South Korean carmaker Kia Motors is trying hard to shed off its image of manufacturer o the entry-level cars with no premium appeal. It is on a portfolio revamping spree and 2019 Kia Cerato is there.
The Cerato compact sedan is set for a makeover for 2019. After making debut in 2003, the Cerato underwent some makeovers. In some markets including the US, it is also sold as Forte. It is also sold in 5 door hatchback and coupe forms in selected markets.

The 2019 Kia Cerato is going to be designed in a way that it will appeal to a broad range of buyers. It is definitely a good-looking compact sedan with alluring curves on the body. The swept-back headlights, mesh-grilled front and Led tail lamps add a suave appeal to the exterior styling. The model will be sold in three trims- S, Sport and Sport Plus. It will be offered in a handful of exciting colors like ‘Aurora Black’, ‘Snow White Pearl’, ‘Metal Stream’ and ‘Temptation Red’ etc.
The cabin of upcoming Kia Cerato is designed with utility and comfort of the users in mind. Based on the trim chosen, you get cloth or leather seating. The model gets six airbags, ABS, parking sensors and Vehicle Stability Management system. Sport and Sport plus trim get the reverse camera. However, lack of more advanced features like lane-keep assist and automatic emergency braking is not offered in the lineup which can frustrate some buyers.
However, the base trim gets 16-inch steel wheels, heated wing mirrors, cruise control and keyless entry. In Sports trim, you get the standard navigation system, seven-inch touch screen and 17-inch alloy wheels. The Sport Plus trim adds cooling glovebox, leather seats, Kia’s smart key and heated steering wheel.
Under the Hood
The upcoming 2019 Kia Cerato is going to be powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine which generates 147 HP. That is less than what you get in most segment rivals but this powertrain is no slouch. As of now, no diesel engine is on offer or hybrid version as well. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and a six-speed automatic is also available.
2019 Kia Cerato Price and Availability
The exact price of the 2019 Kia Cerato is not known. However, expected base trim pricing is approx $25000. It is likely to be unveiled sometimes in late 2018.
