Lincoln has finally opted to take the wraps off the overhauled 2019 Lincoln MKC crossover ahead of its debut in next year’s summer. The inbound compact crossover is set to drop the polarizing and oversized wing carried by the outbound MKC. Instead, the redesigned baby mall-crawler is likely to sport Lincoln’s newly debuted corporate maw, which we can see on the Continental and the MKZ models.
The company indicated that the rear end of the revised MKC would also get a refresh. However, aside from the chrome mustache seated on top of the license plate, nearly everything in the backside looks identical to the previous model. The refreshed Lincoln MKC is likely to lure a lot of luxury SUV buyers than ever before, courtesy of its robust design and driver-focused tech elements.
2019 Lincoln MKC – Exterior Design and Interior Cosmetics
When Lincoln tossed the new Continental and MKZ, we guessed that the fresh corporate nose was going to trickle down to other vehicles in the lineup. Apparently, we did guess it right as we can now see the recently released Navigator with the same company nose. Also, Lincoln’s smallest SUV known as the 2019 Lincoln MKC is equally going to feature this nose.
The redesigned 2019 Lincoln MKC sports a squared-off front grille that complements other vehicles in the lineup, including the MKZ, the Navigator, and the Continental. Lincoln asserted that MKC’s back end would be different and redesigned LED headlamps would flank the revised grille.
When it comes to the inside, Lincoln has made subtle amendments like the inclusion of the Rialto Green shade on the Reserve trim. The company president Galhotra Kumar was quoted as saying, “Our revived MKC comes with a decent style, substance, and a range of technologies which we’ve designed to create a painless ownership experience.”
Lincoln took the opportunity to improve the quality of materials in the cabin, especially in the top-spec Black Label. This specific trim continues with three distinct interior design themes, including Modern, Indulgence, and Center Stage.
The modern theme is packed with Argento wood and white leather. While the Indulgence receives brown leather with some Ziricote wood. Lastly, the Center Stage gets fitted with Alcantara seat insets alongside black leather with red piping. As mentioned earlier, a new Rialto Green color (leather with black ash) joins those design themes.
Regarding substance and tech, the 2019 Lincoln MKC will feature Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Also, it comes with a comprehensive suite of active safety functions such as Pre-collision Warning with Pedestrian Detection.
2019 Lincoln MKC – Turbocharged Engine
The 2019 Lincoln MKC will have a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged powertrain. Its capacity is up to 240 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque.
The other one is a 2.3-liter 4-cylinder engine. This one will have an output of 285-hp. All the two drivetrains come equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission, and either front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive will become available.
2019 Lincoln MKC—MSRP and Release Date
The new 2019 Lincoln MKC has received minimal amendments to the previous model. Because of that, its price won’t budge much from the current $34,000. Thus, we expect its price to be slightly above this entry point.
We will update you on detailed pricing and trim info before it gets to the dealerships in next year’s summer. So, make sure you’ve checked back before its on-sale date.
