Unveiled in Los Angeles, the 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS pioneers the new design which is conspicuous by its unmistakable contours and reduced lines. Unlike its predecessors, lines are kept to a base with the bodywork shape being exceedingly smooth and adjusted instead of complemented by substantial creases and busy lines.
The 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS will be the third generation of the CLS, proceeding with the model’s four-door style. While the shape of the Mercedes hasn’t changed as much, notable changes are on its engine. This general modernity of modesty is what will carry forward with Mercedes design.
2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS – Quality and Luxury in the One
The diamond grille and signature single-louver start the exterior design. Marking the 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS character, the grille contour enlarges towards the base and a forward inclining front area. Its exterior is based on AMG line. The 20-inch light alloy wheels with a high-sheen rim flange are also among the model’s special features. While the new front end is marked with LED headlights, the 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS pulls in taillights identical to the new C-Class Coupe. Concurrently, the design reflects the timeless quality of the first CLS.
Inside, the 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS features an impressive ambient lighting system. The system can be set into any of 64 different colors and automatically changes the color. Furthermore, to add wellness to the mix is the dual-screen cockpit which includes two 12.3-inch HD screens merged together to form a widescreen display.
The panel screen displays fresh gauges and vital reconfigurable driver data, and the center screen shows the most recent version of the Mercedes infotainment system. Additionally, the digital cockpit can be configured into three styles; classic, progressive and sport. Comfort is highly optimized in the CLS. Comfort systems include the fragrance system, surface and steering wheel heating and massaging functions.
The new Mercedes-Benz CLS is equipped with incredible safety technology features. In case of a lateral collision, the appropriate seat side bolster inflates in order to move the passenger 2.75 inches away from the impact area, thanks to the Pre-Safe Impulse Side feature. The car to x communication system receives and transmits warning messages and driving conditions to enable the driver to view hazards ahead.
2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS – Engine Options
The 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS comes with the six-cylinder engine making it one of the few that still uses an inline six engine. For enhanced efficiency and short-term power boosting, the engine incorporates an integrated starter and a 48-volt electrical system. These two add 21 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque for a less period of time.
However, the engine produces a 362 hp and 364 lb-ft of torque considering its small electric motor and turbocharging. Driving in absence of the gasoline engine is possible as the system supplies the battery with power through efficiency restoration, allowing fuel efficiency and sufficient immediate power. A nine-speed transmission will send power to all the four wheels.
Launch Date and Pricing
The all-new Mercedes-Benz CLS scheduled to hit the market in the next fall. Its price is not yet officially announced by the manufacturer. It is however not expected to range much further from its current model and to range between $75.000 and $109.000. The main rival to this model is Audi A7 and Jaguar XJ.
