2020 Subaru Crosstrek XTI Concept

The Subaru has hinted at a more forceful outline of the Crosstrek known as the 2020 Subaru Crosstrek XTI Concept. The concept was presented for the first time in 2013 at the Tokyo Auto Salon. It bears numerous elements including overhauled suspension, new styling, LED lights and new air upgrades among others. The name is derived from the 2008 Forester XTI Concept that premiered at SEMA with a 2.8-liter turbo boxer engine that is the same as the WRX STI.

Also, it had 18-inch S204 wheels, big Brembo brakes, a six-speed manual transmission, high-performance Yokohama rubber and coil-over suspension. Inside the cabin, a new layout with leather and Alcantara was evident. When it comes to output, it yielded 315 horses and 300 pound-feet of torque.

2020 Subaru Crosstrek XTI More Aggressive than the Standard Crosstrek

The 2020 Subaru Crosstrek XTI Concept is a lot more aggressive than the standard Crosstrek model. It retains the same body shape but adds a lot of styling and aero enhancements so that it can stand out from the crowd. The front fascia showcases a revised bumper that sports new curves, ridges and bumps. Larger air intakes are evident in the corners.

The lower grille is not only larger but gets underlined by a silver skid plate that extends the bumper length. The headlight housings retain the Crosstrek’s usual C-shaped daytime running lights. The same flat black under cladding is evident along the flanks. And, side-skirts receive a brushed metal look to complement the front skid plate.

We expect the same chunky design at the back. Also, the automaker is likely to add a skid plate at the bottom edge of the bumper. We also are likely to find a duo of polished exhaust tips along with an aggressive rear spoiler. Finally, the entire vehicle comes draped in Sonic Yellow paint that is loved by many buyers the world over.

Interior Design

When it comes to the interior, the 2020 Subaru Crosstrek XTI continues the Crosstrek’s tradition. Its cabin draws a host of inspirations from the Subaru WRX STI edition. The cabin sports excellent comfort and features, including Alcantara and some leather as well. Carbon fiber bits added in appropriate spots along the dash and on the central stack.

Red contrast stitching adds a splash of color. The multifunction steering wheel and the gauges behind the flat-bottom, three-spoke will receive a red coloring. Seats are significantly bolstered to accomplish a spirited driving whenever the mood is right. The 2020 Subaru Crosstrek XTI also includes an advanced 8.0-inch central infotainment screen that provides the necessary interface.

The new model will have the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto alongside other phone features on the driver’s smart device. Options like an upgraded stereo, additional leather seating and advanced navigation system will add gloss to this vehicle. The available safety features of the 2020 Subaru Crosstrek XTI comprise the blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, rear cross traffic alert and lane change assist.

2020 Subaru Crosstrek XTI Concept Engine and Transmission

An iconic turbo boxer rumble of 2.5-liter drawn from the WRX STI replaces the standard-spec naturally-aspirated 2.0-liter flat four engine. The supposed unit boasts a long history of making globs of dependable power despite the fact that it’s somewhat obsolete in design. It yields about 305 horsepower and 290 pound-feet of torque.

The six-speed standard manual gearbox comes with 2.5-liter go-box. Besides, the standard Crosstrek model receives a CVT. Subaru’s renowned Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system will route the power to each corner as required. It can accelerate to 60 mph in 5 seconds flat, while speed tops out at 140 miles per hour.
