While most of us are awaiting Bugatti to present its new Chiron hypercar, Hennessey has already tossed its future Hennessey Venom F5. Ostensibly, the company took some cues from its Venom GT but cranked them up a few notches higher. The CEO and founder of Hennessey Special Vehicles, John Hennessey, worked closely with his design team to build the fastest road-car in the world.
John is looking to future-proof his pride, which is why he and his crew spent nearly four years crafting and perfecting the next-gen hypercar. For those who have good memories, you most likely will recall that GT had a drag coefficient factor of 0.44CD. This time, the F5 gets vacuum-packed into a silhouette to slash that figure down to 0.33CD.
According to a recent presser, the Hennessey Venom F5 has an insane top speed of 300mph. Thus, it becomes the fastest car ever on earth. Although it adheres to the GT’s footprints, it eliminates the use of a revised Lotus chassis. The new 1,600-horsepower car makes do with a lightweight frame in obscene performance levels. This framework complements the lightweight carbon fiber body. This hypercar allegedly bears a curb weight of 2,950 pounds.
Hennessey Venom F5 – Futuristic and Sporty Design
The Hennessey Venom F5 conforms to the company’s Minimal Maximus ethos. It has more power, more aero, and more tech elements. The F5 has made significant progress in aerodynamics. Its bespoke body is built from the ground up using exclusive carbon-fiber materials. It also bears a sleeker front along with a sculpted, functional rear.
Inside the cabin, you will be welcomed by a more luxurious setting than the previous GT. Hennessey uses plenty of leather, Alcantara, carbon fiber and an Apple/iPad interface to create a plush cabin. The interior is roomy and can accommodate a 6ft6in NFL player. And this is not just a random hype, but a fact because an NFL player ordered one not long ago. That means it has to house him comfortably well.
Hennessey Venom F5 – Top Speed and Engine Specs
The new Hennessey Venom F5 is aiming for a top speed of 300 mph. It features a bespoke 7.4-liter V8 aluminum engine that is integrated with two hefty turbos. This monstrous drivetrain uses a 7-speed single-clutch paddle shift gearbox to relay its power and 1,300lb.ft of torque to Hennessey’s fat and sticky rear wheels.
Thanks to F5’s low coefficient factor, it goes from 0 to 186 mph in just 10 seconds. It can accelerate from zero to 249 mph and back to zero again in less than 30 seconds. The manufacturer says the Hennessey Venom F5 is about 6.44 seconds faster in comparison to the Koenigsegg Agera RS’s most recent record.
Hennessey Venom F5 – Release Date and Cost
You can get a glimpse of the new Hennessey Venom F5 at the ongoing SEMA show in Las Vegas. However, we expect its two prototypes to show up next year in Texas. When the new machine is available at global dealerships is still unknown. But, we think the high-speed games will kick off very soon.
John is building the Venom F5 at a manufacturing plant in Sealy, Texas, where he will produce all the 24 examples. The entry-level model is priced at $1.6 million, but these cars aren’t availed in a first-come, first-serve basis. Instead, you must first apply to own the Venom F5 where the manufacturer will go ahead to handpick an individual who is worthy of this creation.
Once your application is approved, you may choose to option your vehicle for more goodies at an additional $600k. It will then take another three years to fix all your required niceties, and deliveries might start at the start of 2019.
